Help....Im Trapped!!!

Ok....Im supposed to be doing a lil jig bc its Friday

~but~

The SICK is STILL here :(

The dr said it is just a virus and has to run its course and that it can last anywhere from 3-10 days! 10 days??? Are you kidding me??? You know me.....I start thinking and worrying and came to realization that if all of my kids catch this BUG we could be trapped in this SICK for 30 days???????????

That is an eternity of SICK!! Please, Please be praying no one else catches this!!

Ok so I didnt blog yesterday.....It was a BUSY, BUSY day.

Bible Study : Check

And.....I must say it was AWESOME. I hardly spoke a word. I sat back and took everything in. Listened as several women told their stories and tried to grasp the hurt they were feeling. I pray, Lord, for you to wrap your arms around them today & everyday. They are beautiful women with the most touching of stories. Lord.....without speaking a word yesterday....without telling you and the other women out loud how I was feeling, you put my life into perspective so blountly and showed me something I had been needing to see for a while. Thank You....and thanks to the women of the study! 

I'm LOVING it!!

Upward Pictures & Practice: Check

The HALF-way Marker....

Its Wednesday, Hump Day, The half-way marker!!Its almost FRIDAY!!

It has been a challenging week for this smithpartyofive!! SICK BABIES!! Boooo :(

As of now...this is the scent of choice lingering in our halls!!

Anyone who knows me knows I-HATE-SICK!!

So we are praying today ends the sick streak and we can move on! There is alot going on this evening & the rest of this week. There is no time for laying around!!

SOOOO...The whole house is napping and here I sit making lists of what I need to do & blogging!!

Tonight we have Gymnastics & Dance! Tomorrow morning we have Bible Study. Tomorrow afternoon we have Upward Pics & Practice and a Willow House Party. Friday, Saturday & Sunday are also full of Willow House parties (yay me!), Basketball Game, Birthday Parties, Dance, etc!!

Ok.....DEEEEEP BREATHE!!

This is a piece of cake as long as the SICK is GONE!!

Ok now that I've gotten that off my chest....we can chit chat!!

I started a new Bible Study last Thursday!! I will admit I just now found the time to sit down and start my reading and homework! oops! But I am LOVING it!! This is an awesome book and its only Chapter 1. I think she is talking to me!! How does she know me so well??

 Ive even read ahead and Oh My.....this entire book is about me! Yikes....can we say SCARY!!

It is called....

This is a 10 week journey I am going on with a group of amazing christian women. I am so eager to see how God works in my life through this book!

On the first page she says....

Hey, God, this isn't the life I signed up for! I specifically remember signing up for great parents, a great marriage, and great kids who rise up and call me blessed. I signed up for lifelong friendships, thin thighs, and vibrant health. Instead, I find myself in the middle of the life I DIDN'T sign up for. What's going on here?

No one signs up for the challenges of life, but in the real world, heartache is inevitable.

Tuesdays Tips.......

Tuesday....Oh Tuesday....Oh how I love thee (bc at least you arent Monday)!!!

Well today I am feeling a bit like the kids on the Cat & The Hat.....

Its too wet to play so I'll stay in the house on this cold, cold, wet day!!!

Scratch that ~ on to the fun stuff....TIPS!!

#1 Tuesday Tasty Treat

On the Menu:

Baked Pork Chops

&

Fresh Asparagus

Ingredients

• 1 tablespoon soy sauce
• 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
• 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
• 1 teaspoon lemon juice
• 2 tablespoons brown sugar
• 2 tablespoons ketchup
• 6 pork chops, trimmed

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. In a small bowl, thoroughly blend soy sauce, vegetable oil, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, brown sugar, and ketchup.
3. Place pork chops in a medium baking dish, and spread with 1/2 the sauce.
4. Bake pork chops 30 minutes in the preheated oven. Turn, and spread with remaining sauce. Continue baking 30 minutes, or until internal temperature of the chops has reached 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).

Baked Asparagus with Cheese

• 1 lb. fresh asparagus, washed and trimmed
• 1 T. olive oil
• 1/4 cup shredded cheddar of Monterrey Jack cheese
• 2 T. bread crumbs
• 2 tsp. butter or margarine

Preparation -
Spray a shallow baking pan with non-stick cooking spray. Arrange the asparagus spears in the pan . Drizzle olive oil over the asparagus. Sprinkle with shredded cheese, then with bread crumbs. Dot with butter or margerine. Bake, uncovered, at 425º for about 15 minutes or until asparagus is tender.

What the FRENCH........

So it's Monday, it's raining and still cold! I am SO over it!! I have lived in my new home for exactly one month and have yet to complete one DIY project due to the unpredictable Houston weather!!

I am inspired by so many things going on in blog-land and feel like I cant get anything done myself!!

Its a mixture I guess between having a super crazy one year old that gets into everything and the weather in which I refuse to take him out in!! So during the day while the big sis and bro are at school he & I have been couped up indoors!!

I need to go scout out garage sales, resale shops, thrift stores & goodwill!! I need so many things to fill empty spaces.....here are some of my inspirations from other blogs!

 

Thrifty Decor Chick has this in her living room!! Her Craigslist find and DIY redo looks fab and chic! I want something similar but I think I'll go with  grey or an aged blue color!!

Over at Not Just a Housewife she featured this Goodwill find....Adorable!! I heart burlap and monogramming. This is a quick fix to an old lamp and brings personality to your living room! Im on a mission!!

Pottery Barn is just eyecandy....plain and simple!! But unfortunately it is a little out of budget for this partyofive! I will splurge every now & then but I'd much rather a ~HOMEGOODS~ or ~TARGET~ look-alike!! But I want, want, want this Number Canvas....for not, not, not the $299 PB price!! So project #3 is making this canvas for my partyofive in a thrifty budget!! I want to make it out of numbers that mean something to our fam!! Bdays, Years, Ages etc.

Saturday is my all time FAVE!!

The day you get to sleep in and spend all day with your family!!

Ahhhhh........doesnt get much better than that!! Except it hardly ever happens that way!!

Sooooooo~we are up bright and early today to take this day on!!

Today I awoke to the sound of a screeeeeeeching alarm clock!!! Oh how I hate alarm clocks!! But I must say waking up knowing I'm headed to coach the Jr.Bears puts a great big smile :) on my face!!!

I am sooooo very proud of my Upward Basketball Team aka the Jr Bears!!

They are a ROCKIN KINDER TEAM!! They give it their all each every time they are on the court!! Most importantly they all are eager to learn scripture and serve our Lord Jesus Christ. AMEN SISTA!!!

You can smell the freshness from under the laundry room door!! It lingers in your closet after your clothes are hung and best of all my hubby swears when he goes to work people ask what his wife uses to wash his clothes....Ha as if I'm some domestic genius!!

#3~ CHILLAXIN

I would love to cuddle up and watch a movie tonight and light our very first fire in our new home!! Maybe have a light dinner and a glass of Sangria Wine!!

Once again I must be dreaming bc this never happens but I always plan on it!!
